At first, the core business of Bell Mirror and Glass was building and installing shower doors, replacing window glass and performing light commercial glass installation and repairs. In the 1970s, when the Bell children became interested in working in the business, Dean looked for ways to maximize the company. Bell Mirror and Glass became one of the first glass shops in Kansas and one of a very few glass shops in the Midwest to own and operate glass beveling machinery. Critical to the business' success is its full range of product styles; including many different colors of mirror and glass and many different glass patterns for architects or interior designers. Also vital to the business has been its early expertise in beveling. As the demand for decorative mirrors and glass expanded, the company began to fashion designer mirrors and bought equipment to sandblast artwork and logos onto glass and mirrors. Bell Mirror and Glass has a very healthy walk-in retail business and works with the finest builders in Kansas to fabricate and install over 80% of the new housing mirrors, tub and bath enclosures. All facets of the business have continued to grow. |

Dean and Ruth started the business in western Sedgwick county Kansas, in a barn, in 1963. The business has grown every year since, outgrowing the barn and another location at 1516 W. Douglas before settling into its present home at 1702 South Seneca in Wichita, Kansas.
In an era of consolidation, Bell Mirror and Glass continues providing a family owned and operated personal touch to each business transaction. |
